Irrigation of bulbous plants
To irrigate the bulbous plants some precautions are necessary: first of all you need to water well with a light jet at the time of the implant, and then repeat the operation in a dry climate. In autumn-winter a certain humidity must be maintained in the soil: for this reason no special care is required, except for the foresight not to crush the soil to avoid compacting it. Make sure that the soil does not get too wet, as this could affect the development of bulbous plants. In spring it is necessary to wet abundantly and regularly, increasing the doses when the flowers appear. After flowering the frequency is reduced, until the leaves have withered; in summer the irrigations must be stopped to avoid fungal diseases. During the period of vegetation remove all the parts that fade or wither. It will be necessary to irrigate with generosity; this happens mainly for late species and varieties, which are in vegetative phase when the soil and climate are still warm.
