Composition and instructions for use of Albena for goats, dosage and analogues


Goats are now popular with owners of personal subsidiary plots and farmers. Milk, cheese - these products are in demand. However, they will become dangerous to humans if they are infected with any kind of helminths. The use of "Albena" for goats and other domestic animals allows you to get rid of this problem. The drug is widely used in veterinary medicine, has high efficiency and is able to fight various types of parasites.

The composition and form of release of the veterinary drug

Alben is a new generation broad-spectrum anthelmintic drug. Its main component is albendazole at a concentration of 20%. Available in granular and tableted forms. Suitable for individual and group use in the treatment of goats, sheep, cattle. Well tolerated by pets.

Granules are packed in 0.5 and 1.0 kilograms in laminated paper bags or polymer cans. Tablets are offered to the consumer in 25 pieces on a foil blister, placed in a cardboard box, or 100 pieces in a polymer can. Each tablet contains 0.36 grams of active ingredient.

Indications for use

Goats infected with worms become lethargic, lose weight, if left untreated, they can die. They are able to get infected in the pasture, from other animals, by drinking dirty water.

"Alben" has a wide and complex spectrum of action, relieves pets of adult parasites and worm eggs. The remedy is active against:

  1. Nematodes are a large number of roundworm species that live in the gastrointestinal tract. For example, with a disease with trichostrongylidosis, hemonhozoma, bunostomosis and other types of helminthic invasions.
  2. Nematodes that live in the lungs (protostongylosis disease).
  3. Trematodes - flatworms, also called flukes (the presence of, for example, fascioliasis or dicroceliosis).
  4. Cestodes - tapeworms (defeat by moniesiasis and other types of cestodes).

The drug is used after prior consultation with a veterinarian. In the presence of helminths in one goat, all livestock are treated. Alben has low toxicity and is used for prophylactic purposes. Excellent for mixed helminthic infestation of animals.

How to use Alben for goats

The instructions for the drug contain detailed recommendations for use. The dosage depends on the weight of the animal and the type of worms. For goats, 1 tablet is used per 68-70 kilograms of weight. In case of damage by pulmonary nematodes, trematodes and cestodes, 1 tablet is taken for 44-45 kilograms.

The tablets can be given by placing them whole on the root of the tongue, or dissolved in a little water and poured into the animal's mouth. If there are not many animals, it is convenient to use a syringe without a needle, having previously dissolved the agent. When processing a large number of animals and the preparation in granules "Alben" can be mixed with your favorite food.

Do not eat or smoke while using the drug. After using it, wash your hands thoroughly. Caring for animals, systematic cleaning of places where they are kept will reduce the risk of infection.

Worming animals is recommended once a quarter. The kids are given anthelmintic drugs from the age of 3 months.

Are there any contraindications and side effects?

The drug has very few contraindications. It belongs to the 4th class of danger and cannot be poisonous. It should not be given in the following cases:

  • with individual intolerance;
  • in the first third of pregnancy;
  • with dystrophy and weakening of animals.

When using the drug for the first time, it should be tested on one or a small group of animals. Intolerance can manifest as fever, lethargy and diarrhea. There is no information on an overdose of the drug, but it should be used in accordance with the instructions or recommendations of veterinarians.

After using the drug, milk should not be eaten for 4 days. The slaughter of livestock is carried out no earlier than 2 weeks after the use of Albena.

Terms and conditions of storage

Store the drug in its original packaging, away from food and feed. Do not expose it to sunlight. Choose a place that is inaccessible to children and pets, with normal humidity. The term of use is no more than 3 years from the date of manufacture.
